Salem's Lot (1979)
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
House on Haunted Hill (1959)
and now...
Trick R Treat (2009)
Of course, I watch much more than these during my annual Halloween Horrorthon. For a more detailed list, see my ongoing, interactive thread:

yeah, that's unsettling on many levels

just like the mass killing of children with disabilities

but in the end, karma (and sam) prevailed

That's how I'll remember him. LOL. I once saw a pic of "Dan" sitting at a final season production meeting holding up a sign reading "HELP US" in reference to Roseanne's madness.
Trick or treat was sweet. I think I like the story of the Wicca girl being tormented by the rich kids. Sweet revenge.
I like movies that depict how peoples worlds intertwine. There's only a few degrees of separation between you and everyone else, and everyone has some sort of craziness going on. Good movie.

The first three Halloween movies, the Evil Deads, and the George Romero zombie films.
Then,
Ghost Story (1981)
The Haunting (original)
The Funhouse
Phantasm
The Raven (1963)
Re-Animator
The Fog (original)
Dead and Buried
Fiend Without A Face
Legend of Hell House
Return of the Living Dead
The Thing (both the original and the John Carpenter remake)
Other than those, I use an anniversary system to select movies to watch during October.
Movies that were made 10, 20, 25, 50, and 75 years ago.
