my brother-in-law and niece (to be as soon as my live-in girl and i tie-the-knot) are coming to the city this weekend

she's 6 years-old, so we'll probably watch
it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown! and disney's
haunted mansion with her

salem's lot by stephen king

when I was a kid that movie creeped me out, I was scared to look out the window at night for a while.

yeah, the original
salem's lot mini-series by tobe hooper (of texas chainsaw fame) was very scary for me as a young kid in the late 70s

like you all, the young vampire at the window (an undead ralphie glick) haunted me for years

it was also a much better production than the 2004 tnt version with rob lowe

although the latter followed the novel more closely

i have the newer mini-series on dvd, too
salem's lot is by far one of my favorite novels

i have read it many times and it's always fun

i hadn't seen it since i was a kid

it definitely didn't have the same effect

unlike
it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown, which will always be an oldie and a goodie
